Beach I (Ott Beach)

Beach and Lake Rules
1.     Swimming in the lake is allowed only at beaches, and only when lifeguards are on duty.

2.     Guests shall be subject to the same rules and regulations as members.

3.     Children under 12 years of age are not permitted at the beach unless accompanied by an adult (16 years of age or older) who shall be responsible for the childs behavior and conformance to all beach and lake rules and regulations.

4.     Non-swimmers should stay within a reasonable distance of rope markers and should strictly adhere to lifeguards instructions.

5.     Rocks, etc. should not be thrown in the swimming area. No sitting or hanging on rope markers.

6.     Under Pennsylvania state law, dogs and other animals are not allowed to bathe in the same bodies of water with humans; thus pets are not permitted at the beaches, as well as any other parts of the lake (ex. swimming off of docks, or at marinas).

7.     No boats or fishing are permitted in the swimming areas.

8.     Conduct disturbing the pleasures or affecting the safety of individuals is prohibited.

9.     Trash should be placed in the containers provided at the edge of each beach.

10.     Glassware of any kind is not permitted in, on or around common lake front or beach areas.

11.     No alcoholic beverages may be consumed in the beach or swimming areas.

12.     Respect the instructions of lifeguards and any safety boat. Mountain Lakes are famous for dangerous squally weather. Sailing or boating during thunderstorms is extremely dangerous. Bring your boat in at the first sign of a storm.

13.     For your protection, socializing with or distracting lifeguards while they are on duty is prohibited. Please abide by this rule for your own protection.

In the event of a breach of any of the above rules, the lifeguards have the authority to issue warnings. If these warnings are not heeded, the aquatics supervisor on duty may request a member and/or guest to leave the lake or beach. Circumstances leading to the expulsion from the lake or beach, may be reviewed by the board of directors for further action.

Personal Floatation Device Rules and Regulations
Only Coast Guard-approved vests will be allowed in areas designated by lifeguards. A swimming parent must accompany the person using the PFD at all times. Vests must fit properly. Normal air mattresses (rafts) will be allowed at the discretion of the lifeguards. No other items such as water wings, swimmies or non-coast guard approved vests shall be allowed at any time in the waters protected by lifeguards. Consult lifeguards if you have any questions concerning the qualifications of your PFDs.
