There are THREE steps to rent your property at Eagle Lake1. Complete Covington Township STR permit process – if applicable.2. Complete the ELCA Annual Rental Property Permit process.3. Submit online rental registrations for each rental hosted at your property.
Covington Township Short Term Rental OrdinanceShort-term rental properties must comply with the Covington Township Short-Term Rental Ordinance. Short term rentals are defined by the township as “dwelling which is rented for overnight lodging for a period of not less than one (1) day and not more than twenty-nine (29) days.” If you are completing the ELCA annual Rental Property Permit application as a short-term rental property, you must submit a copy of the approved Covington Twp. permit with your ELCA Annual Rental Property Permit application. ELCA Annual Rental Property PermitPermit Application Form:https://www.cognitoforms.com/EagleLakeCommunityAssociation2/ELCAAnnualRentalPropertyPermitThere is no fee for the ELCA Annual Rental Property permit. Any member in good standing, who has successfully completed the permit application, will be eligible to complete a rental registration form upon receipt of an issued permit. Good standing will be monitored regularly, and issued permits can be paused if it is not maintained by the rental property owner throughout the permit year.If you complete and submit the permit application, you will be notified of the status of your application via email. Upon submission to ELCA, please allow up to five (5) business days to be notified of the status of your permit. ELCA properties must obtain an issued rental property permit to submit a rental registration for the property. The permit application must be completed annually. The Annual Rental Property Permit does not transfer with a change in ownership.
Rental Property Advertisements: An issued rental property permit allows owners to advertise their property as available to rent within ELCA. The property must be issued a rental property permit to post property rental advertisements of any kind. Properties being advertised for rent, which do not have an approved annual rental property permit will be subject to the following penalties:first offense – warning; remove any and all advertisements or submit the Annual Property Permit process with ELCA within 15 days. second offense - $100 finethird offense - $250 finefourth offense - $500 fine
Rental Registrations Rental Registration Form:https://www.cognitoforms.com/EagleLakeCommunityAssociation2/ELCASecurityDepartmentRentalRegistrationFormAll rental registrations will now be completed online. Owners who have already submitted and received an issued rental property permit will be able to complete and submit rental registrations to our administrative teams. The rental registration fee payment will be processed within the rental registration form.
2025 Rental Registration fee structure:1-3 nights: $654-6 nights: $1007-14 nights: $12514-30 nights: $150
A $50 late registration fee will be applied to any registrations submitted within one (1) day or less to the start of a rental. The ELCA rental period is 30 days. Rentals for longer periods require a renewed Rental Registration Form with applicable fees, reissued each 30-day period.
